Bon Air Park Rose Garden Engagement Photos

My photo session with Trey and Lauren at the Bon Air Park Rose Garden was delightful. We had fun and the photos reflect the mood.

It was fall and the roses were still in bloom. We had the photo session at the golden hour at around 6 pm. The lighting at the park was amazing and I captured the special glow around this beautiful couple.

To get the most out of an photo session at the Bon Air Park, I recommend exploring the spots off the main path and you will find more interesting photo opportunities.

At the back of the Rose Garden, I discovered taller rose beds which give the photos a beautiful background. Outside the Rose Garden, there is a stream and a forest with lush foliage. This added variety to our photos.

I hope that you have the opportunity to explore this park and take some creative photos too! - Michael S.

5 Tips for Your First Dance

1. Pick a Song with a Good Beat

It is easier to dance to a song with a good beat. And everyone enjoys your dance more when he or she can hear and feel the beat.

2. Keep it Short

Try to watch a first dance online and see how long you stay attentive. Some dance instructors and DJs recommend a dance of 1 to 2 minutes.

3. Remember Your Guests

Remember to face everyone for at least a moment. While it is romantic to look into each other’s eyes, take the time to look or smile at your guests.

4. Create Memorable Moments

Pause and pose at appropriate moments for your guests to capture you on camera. This keeps them engaged. For a nice entrance, you can walk slowly to the center of the dance floor. End your dance with a turn or dip.

5. Be Creative

Try combining different dance styles (such as foxtrot and swing) to the same song. You can also use two different songs – start with a slow dance and transition to salsa or swing. At the end of the dance – ask the bridal party or guests to join you on the floor.

While being creative, avoid complicated steps and select dance moves that you can execute easily.

Wedding Tips from a Bride
Tiptop Focus Event and Wedding Video and Photo.jpg

Hawa and DeShawn had a beautiful wedding at Herrington on the Bay in North Beach, Maryland. Hawa shared some tips with us regarding key moments of her wedding day.

1. Having a Smooth, Graceful Wedding Procession

We had rehearsal the night before so that it was fresh in everyone’s memory. I believe it helps when most of our wedding party have been in weddings before.

2. Exchanging Touching Wedding Vows

When it’s time to write your vows, give yourself at least an hour to gather your thoughts and all your memories of your partner. Then pick a quiet place to focus on the writing as they are one of the most important things of your wedding day.

3. Enjoying a Fun Wedding Reception

Just have fun. Live in the moment. Make sure that you have a great DJ and a day-of-coordinator so that everything runs smoothly.

4. Looking Natural and Relaxed

We were both a little anxious so we were surprised that our anxiety did not show on camera. I think we are just happy that the day was finally here. A tip is to just live in the moment.

Thank you Hawa for the tips! You can watch Hawa and DeShawn’s wedding video below:
